One person was killed and seven others injured when a van collided with a tractor trolley late Thursday night in Hyderabad, the private media channel reported.

The accident occurred on Tando Jam Road when the van hit the tractor trolley head-on, leaving eight people injured. Eyewitnesses said the collision resulted from overspeeding.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, where one victim died during treatment. Rescue sources said most of the injured remain in critical condition.

Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Road accidents remain a major concern in Pakistan, which has one of the world’s highest rates of fatal traffic accidents due to poorly maintained roads, unsafe vehicles, and reckless driving.
