Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, is back in the national spotlight after fresh political rumours surfaced about his position. He has been serving as Chief Minister since March 2, 2024, after being elected unopposed in the Provincial Assembly. He is a member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and plays a central role in the current coalition setup.
Recent reports claim that the coalition between the PPP and PML-N is experiencing internal friction. The discussion began when PML-N Senator Mir Dostain Khan Domki stated that Bugti might soon be removed from office.
He argued that some leaders were dissatisfied with the Chief Minister’s performance. His comments quickly gained attention and added fuel to ongoing political debates in the province.
However, PPP leaders in Balochistan have strongly dismissed these claims. They stated that the party fully supports the Chief Minister and considers the rumours an attempt to create confusion. Party representatives insisted that no changes are planned and that Bugti will continue his duties as usual.
Some reports also suggest that both PPP and PML-N have agreed he will complete a full five-year term as Chief Minister. This has made the situation more complex, with no final outcome visible yet.
Bugti’s political career spans several key roles. He served twice as the Provincial Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs between 2013 and 2018. He was also a member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2015 to 2021.
Before taking charge in Balochistan, he worked as the caretaker Federal Minister for Interior, Overseas Pakistanis, and Human Resource Development in 2023. Over the years, he has been linked with different political parties, including the PML-N and Balochistan Awami Party, before joining the PPP in late 2023.
Public interest remains high, with many also searching for personal details such as Sarfraz Bugti age and Sarfraz Bugti wife. The political situation continues to develop, and more clarity is expected in the coming weeks.
