ISLAMABAD: There is a possibility of another increase in petroleum product prices across the country from October 1, due to which the petrol price are likely to reach Rs 266.58 per litre.

The oil industry has completed its working on petroleum product prices.

According to sources, prices of petroleum products may go up by Rs1.97 to Rs4.65 per litre.

The price of petrol is likely to rise by Rs1.97 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see an increase of Rs 2.48 per litre.

If the current increase is implemented than the petrol prices will reach Rs 266.58 per litre from Rs 264.61 and diesel prices will become Rs 277.42 per liter from Rs 272.77.

The price of light diesel oil is expected to increase by Rs 1.76 per litre, whereas kerosene may go up by Rs 4.65 per litre.

OGRA will send its working on the prices to the Ministry of Finance through the Petroleum Division.

The Ministry of Finance will make the final announcement tomorrow (September 30) after the Prime Minister’s approval.

It is worth mentioning that 15 days ago, the government had kept the petrol price unchanged while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.78 per litre.
