Jos Buttler has become the highest scorer in T20 cricket history after breaking the 14,803-run West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard’s record.
The England skipper hit Marco Jansen with a six over square leg in Manchester Super Giants’ game at Old Trafford to become the highest scorer in T200 cricket history.
The T20 game saw Buttler’s career tally of T20 runs cross the 14,803 mark to become the top scorer surpassing Pollard.
He then hit a whirlwind 51 runs off 20 deliveries, further cementing his outstanding record.
In recent weeks the 35-year-old has been in a wonderful string of form. He has scored 50 three times in his last four Hundred appearances, also making the unbeaten 131 runs off 64 deliveries against India last month.

Buttler set the record in 522 innings, compared to Pollard’s 663. He is now the number 1 all-time T20 run scorer ahead of T20 legends Chris Gayle (14,562 runs), Alex Hales (14,449) and David Warner (14,284).
His T20 debut came in 2009 when he made his debut for Somerset in the Hyderabad Champions League Twenty20.
Buttler initially as a batsman, used to be a lower-order finisher, before he became one of the world’s most potent openers in 2011 when he made his debut for England.
He has been consistent in his achievements.
In the last 12 years in only one year his average was not more than 30-runs.
He has taken his game to the next level since 2021 and struck all his nine T20 centuries in this time period.
Buttler’s ability to bat smart, and hit hard, has been on display in recent years, with an average of 43 runs in the powerplay and an impressive run rate of 184 in the death overs.
