Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has ditched the VIP queue at the airport, showing humility and winning praise on social media.
In a video circulating on social media, Iqbal can be seen standing in the regular immigration queue, with no VIP protocol or special line. There were also no cameras “curating content” around him.
@betterpakistan spotted standing in regular queue for immigration – no VIP protocol, no special lines, no cameras “curating content” ! Good to see a senior politician like Ahsan Iqbal follow the process like a regular citizen. pic.twitter.com/s2eHbemGmE

Following this, social media praised the federal minister for his simplicity.
I once saw Ahsan Iqbal at the F-10 outlet of Monark in Islamabad, with his wife and sons. At first, I actually thought it might not be him, simply because I had assumed someone of his stature would probably shop at more high-end brands. But then I realized it was indeed him… https://t.co/OWtmW6lqbX

There is much all of us, especially politicians, can learn from Ahsan Iqbal. @betterpakistan https://t.co/s8c8wG1w33

Ahsan Iqbal does it regularly. I personally saw him walking in the parking lot of Liberty Market Lahore. He was alone & carrying some shopping bags just like common people. I saw him all by himself in Lahore High Court. He was a federal minister at that time.

When seniors do good things publicly, other colleagues & juniors too would follow the precedent… may be slowly, but surely! https://t.co/Tir9aCroAW
On Saturday, Ahsan Iqbal chaired a consultative session on civil service reforms in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The session was attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Federal Minister Aleem Khan, former PTI federal minister Asad Umar, senior policymakers, sector specialists and other stakeholders.
