Former US President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to other parts of his body and is causing him pain, even as he continues to speak out on public issues, his son Hunter revealed in an interview.
During an extensive interview with the BBC late on Friday, Hunter Biden became emotional about his father’s condition, which he said is “very sad to watch.”
This cancer has spread, has metastasised into his bones and beyond,” he said, “in many ways it is very debilitating and painful.”
Joe Biden, the 83-year-old president, was the oldest president in US history and his age was a worry throughout the four years of his tenure.
He and his White House counsellors have come in for a lot of criticism for hiding the severity of his issues, particularly since he had to give up his re-election bid after an embarrassing performance in a debate with his eventual successor, Donald Trump.

The former president revealed his cancer diagnosis in May of last year, less than four months after he left the White House.
The diagnosis was hard on the family,” said Hunter Biden.
“It’s so heartbreaking to see it,” Biden’s son said. Really the only thing I would say about my dad and his health is that I wish that he complained more because that’s not good.”
But Hunter Biden said his father remains “out there,” speaking publicly about the issues that are important to him.
“He’s still at his game,” he replied. “He so believes in this country.”
The former President will release a memoir, “Promise Me, America,” after the mid-term elections.
