It has been confirmed by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) that a total solar eclipse will be visible on August 12, which is going to be one of the biggest astronomical events of the year.
The overall phase of the eclipse will be seen from the Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain, according to SUPARCO.
Thanks to the moon’s complete passage over the Sun, observers inside the path of totality in these areas will view the Sun without direct sunlight.
The eclipse will be visible in the partial phase in several other parts of Europe, Africa and North America.
The Moon will be in front of the Sun and only partially cover its face in these areas.

But the astronomical event will not be visible in Pakistan. SUPARCO has stated that no city in the country will be able to see either the total or the partial phase of the solar eclipse on August 12.
Hence, in Pakistan, skywatchers will not be able to directly observe the eclipse from their locations.
A solar eclipse is when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, preventing some or all of the Sun’s light from reaching parts of the Earth.
Whether an eclipse is total, partial or invisible will be dependent upon the geographical location of the observer and its relationship to the eclipse path.
This means that the eclipse on August 12 will not be visible from Pakistan, and members of the public will not be able to see the rare phenomenon.
The event is likely to be widely observed by astronomers and skywatchers in the areas where it can be seen.
