Gas supply has been temporarily affected in parts of Quetta after an 18-inch gas pipeline was damaged. The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said that it has changed the gas supply timings in some areas while repair work is being carried out.

What is the new gas supply schedule?

Under the temporary schedule, gas will be available from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. It will then be supplied from 12 PM to 3 PM. In the evening, gas will be available from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.

TimeGas supply

SSGC said gas supply will remain suspended during the remaining hours. The company said this is necessary to maintain gas pressure and keep the network working properly.

The company added that the normal supply schedule will resume once the situation improves. Gas supplies have also been temporarily stopped in some areas of Balochistan due to damage to the pipeline.

Gas supply suspended in Quetta

Gas supply has been suspended in several parts of Quetta after a fault developed in a major pipeline.

According to a spokesperson for SSGC, the supply was stopped in several areas after an unexpected fault was found in the pipeline.

The spokesperson said the issue was caused by a fault in a 16-inch valve. Technical teams are working to fix the problem. If the repair work is completed on time, gas supply is expected to resume by 6 PM.

Several areas have been affected by the suspension. These include Eastern Bypass, Link Badini, Sariab Road, Qambrani Road and Kirani Road.

Gas supply has also been stopped in Killi Tarkha, Satellite Town, Gawalmandi and Mali Bagh. Areas near Mission Hospital and Akram Hospital are also affected. SSGC has asked residents to make arrangements for their daily needs until the gas supply is restored.
