The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has auctioned two parking plazas in Raja Bazaar.
RDA awarded three-year contracts for these two parking plazas in Raja Bazaar following an open auction.
The auction was held on the directions of Rawalpindi Commissioner and RDA Director General Salman Ghani.
The properties included the parking plaza at Fawara Chowk and another facility opposite the Tehsil Office in Rawalpindi.
The auction committee, chaired by RDA Director Estate Management Iftikhar Ali, reviewed bids and completed the process under the authority’s prescribed rules and procedures.
The Fawara Chowk parking plaza contract was awarded to Zabiullah for an annual rent of Rs64.715 million.
Waseela Enterprises secured the contract for the parking plaza opposite the Tehsil Office at an annual rent of Rs4.685 million.
Officials said the committee also approved a 10% annual increase in rent for both parking facilities.
The meeting was attended by RDA Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Deputy Director Finance Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director Estate Management Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud and other officials.
The two parking plazas are located in busy parts of Raja Bazaar and are used by citizens, shopkeepers, visitors and commuters.
The RDA said the auction was conducted with a focus on transparency and accountability. It added that the authority would continue efforts to improve the utilisation of its assets and increase revenue in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
