Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has been taken from Adiala jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad under police security, amid tight security arrangements.
According to media reports, Imran Khan is being escorted by police as he is transferred from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.
Additional police personnel have been deployed during the transfer, with security measures tightened along the route.
The move is being carried out in the context of a Supreme Court order concerning Mr Khan’s medical examination.
After reaching Islamabad, Mr Khan is expected to be taken to Shifa International Hospital, where a medical board will examine him, according to the reports.
The transfer comes as authorities prepare for the hospital visit under the court’s directions.

Imran Khan’s Shifa Hospital transfer begins under SC order
The government has started the process of moving PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in line with the Supreme Court’s order on Thursday.
Additionally, the security squad has been directed to remain on high alert ahead of the transfer. More than 800 police officers have reportedly been deployed along the route to ensure security during the movement.
Security clearance at Shifa International Hospital has also been completed. Hospital staff have reportedly been asked to hand over their mobile phones, and signals have been blocked in the area.
Two vehicles from the Islamabad Police squad have also reached Adiala Jail as preparations for the possible transfer continue.
According to reports, Imran Khan was given two blocks in jail along with an air cooler, a bed with a mattress, a prison worker and a personal cook.
Reports add that he was also provided with special meals. These include chicken and whole goats, as well as newspapers, books and other facilities. Additionally, Imran Khan received medical treatment according to the jail manual.
Security clearance has been completed at the Shifa International Hospital, according to the latest reports. Additionally, staff phones have been taken, and signals have been blocked.
Traffic movement around Shifa International Hospital has also been restricted as authorities clear roads in the area, as there are reports that PTI founder Imran Khan could be shifted from Adiala Jail to the hospital today.
Roads around H-8 have also been diverted. Authorities have also advised people to plan their journeys carefully as VIP movement may take place in the area.
