Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been moved back to Adiala jail after undergoing a medical examination at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
Imran Khan was taken to the hospital from Adiala jail around midnight on August 21 under heavy security, according to media reports.
A team of six specialist doctors was expected to examine him at the hospital. Following the examination, doctors were to assess whether he needed to remain in hospital or could return to jail.
He has now been taken back to Adiala jail and moved to his cell.
The Supreme Court registrar’s office on Thursday returned a review petition challenging Imran Khan’s transfer to hospital, citing objections, according to reports.
The petition had been filed a day earlier against the decision to move the former prime minister to Shifa International Hospital.
Separately, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has raised the possibility of Imran Khan being sent abroad.
His remarks have sparked discussion in political circles about a possible overseas transfer, although no decision has been announced.
For now, Imran Khan remains at Adiala jail after his medical examination at Shifa International Hospital.
