Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Bin Ismail met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting was also attended by the Malaysian Ambassador to Pakistan and a senior Malaysian delegation.
Regional security discussed
According to the ISPR, the two sides discussed regional security issues and matters of mutual interest.
They reaffirmed the strong and lasting ties between Pakistan and Malaysia. Both sides also agreed to further expand cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence cooperation and strategic ties with Malaysia.
Congo Defence Chief meets Field Marshal Asim Munir
A high-level defence delegation from the Republic of Congo met with the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday, according to the ISPR.
The delegation was led by Congo’s Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Banza Mwilambo Jules.
The visiting delegation was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan’s three armed forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation and ways to strengthen defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and the Republic of Congo.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the friendly relations between the two countries. They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand and strengthen defence and security cooperation.
The two sides agreed to explore new areas of cooperation and benefit from each other’s experience in defence and security.
