After Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali has announced that he will join the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Expressing his excitement, Moeen Ali said, “It is time for a new beginning. I am very excited to join the new era of HBL PSL.”
He praised the league, adding, “PSL holds a prominent place in T20 cricket due to its excellent quality and world-class talent. It has always been good to play in Pakistan. The high-quality cricket and the extraordinary enthusiasm of the fans make you want to give your best performance.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Moeen Ali said, “I am looking forward to all these things so that the best memories stay with me. I am ready for a new and special experience, God willing.”
Faf du Plessis
South African star Faf du Plessis has confirmed that he will skip the IPL 2026 auction and play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next season.
In an Instagram post, du Plessis said, “After 14 seasons in the IPL, I’ve decided not to put my name into the auction this year. It’s a big decision, and one that comes with a lot of gratitude when I look back.”
Reflecting on his time in the league, he called it “a massive part of my journey,” and added that he had been “lucky to play with world-class teammates, for amazing franchises, and in front of fans whose passion is like nothing else.”
He also thanked everyone who supported him over the years: “To every coach, teammate, support staff member, and every fan who has backed me, thank you. Your support has meant the world.”
Explaining his next move, du Plessis said, “This year, I’ve chosen to take on a new challenge and will be playing in the upcoming PSL season.”
Calling it “an exciting step,” he described the league as a chance “to experience something new, to grow as a player, and to embrace a league filled with incredible talent and energy.”
He concluded by saying he is looking forward to “a new country, a new environment, a new challenge” and added, “I’m looking forward to the Pakistan hospitality. See you all soon.”
Du Plessis’ decision to prioritise the PSL in 2026 is expected to boost the tournament’s profile and bring another high-profile international star to the league.
