Khanna Pul Terminal to be relocated temporarily

The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Capital Mass Transit Wing has announced the temporary relocation of the Khanna Pul Terminal to the opposite side of the road due to ongoing construction work. The temporary shift has been made to facilitate commuters and ensure the smooth operation of public transport services during the construction period.

According to the CDA, the existing route alignment will remain largely unchanged, with only minor adjustments expected following the terminal’s relocation. A banner will be displayed at the current terminal to direct passengers to the new location. Commuters can also check updated terminal information through the CDA Metro App.

The authority has urged passengers to take note of the temporary terminal location and cooperate with staff to ensure smooth operations during the construction period. Bus routes will remain largely unchanged during the temporary arrangement, while passengers can access the latest route updates through the CDA Metro App. Passengers have been advised to follow the signs at the new terminal location and cooperate with staff to ensure smooth operations during the shifting period.

It is worth mentioning here that CDA had also planned to construct a National Bus Terminal on 31 acres of land in Sector I-11/4, aimed at improving intercity transport facilities in the capital. The proposed site plan and traffic management plan for the project were presented during a meeting. The terminal will have a capacity of more than 100 bus bays and will feature commercial areas, petrol pumps and dedicated bus parking facilities.

The project will also include service stations, taxi stands and maintenance workshops to provide comprehensive facilities for transport operators and passengers. National Bus Terminal is planned to be connected to 11th Avenue in the future, which is expected to improve accessibility and traffic flow to and from the facility. The project is part of the CDA’s efforts to develop modern transport infrastructure and streamline bus operations in Islamabad.
