KP CM confirms September 27 long march, rules out date change

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has confirmed that the long march will take place on September 27 and said there will be no change in the date.

Speaking in Buner, Afridi said authorities had not shifted PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital despite a Supreme Court decision.

The chief minister said he would personally lead the long march and bring millions of people to Islamabad. He also directed party workers to begin preparations for the march, saying they would return successful on September 27.

Earlier, while addressing participants of the Street Movement at Abu Bakr Siddiq Chowk in Hangu, Afridi criticised the government over its handling of the court’s decision regarding Imran Khan.

He said some people had again shown that they considered themselves above the Constitution and the law.

Afridi said authorities quickly implement orders issued against ordinary people but ignore court orders concerning Imran Khan.

He argued that if powerful people could avoid punishment, authorities should also release prisoners who lack power.

“There cannot be one law for the weak and another for the powerful in the same country,” he said.

The KP chief minister said Imran Khan’s struggle aimed to establish equal laws for everyone, regardless of their position.

He urged people to think about the country’s direction and said farmers and industrialists were also facing serious difficulties.
