Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone 18 lineup in September, but the upcoming devices could be more expensive than last year’s models.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is considering increasing the prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as its first foldable iPhone, which is also expected to be launched in September.
The report said Apple’s new flagship iPhones are likely to cost more than last year’s Pro models. Apple had avoided increasing the prices of its iPhone 17 lineup last year.
The company is reportedly considering a strategy similar to other smartphone manufacturers, which have passed higher component costs on to consumers. Apple is expected to adopt the same approach for the iPhone 18 Pro models amid rising prices of RAM and other chips.
While the exact price increase has not yet been confirmed, the report suggests that the Pro models could become $100 more expensive.
If the increase is implemented, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,199 instead of $1,099.
Apple is also expected to change its iPhone launch schedule this year. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Air are reportedly not expected to launch alongside the Pro models.
According to various leaks, the two models could instead be introduced sometime in early 2027.
