Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started major upgradation and restoration project for Islamabad’s old residential sectors and key commercial centers.
A meeting of the CDA engineering wing held at CDA headquarters in which the detailed plan was presented. The review meeting was chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The new project aims restore markets, Pedestrian infrastructure and other important routs in Islamabad.
Initially, in the first phase the directorate will complete recarpeting of the city commercial places, that includes F-6 supermarket, Blue Area and F-7 Jinnah supermarket.
During the first stage of the project major roads and services roads in sector E-12 will be carpeted. During the meeting it was emphasized that the citywide upgradation and restoration will be completed in phases to improve the standard work.
The restoration work on zebra crossings on several major roads has already begun. Zebra crossing near educational institution, hospitals and busiest spots are being prioritized to improve the like and safety of pedestrian safety.
The official says that surveys of markets, commercial centers and streets of all roads have already been completed. The chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa has emphasized to complete work of rehabilitation program to use internal resources.
