Mahira Khan has returned to television dramas with the release of the first teaser for her upcoming series Mitti De Baway.
The one-minute teaser was released on Sunday, a few days after the drama’s trailer.
It gives viewers more details about the characters played by Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali and highlights a glimpse into their different social backgrounds.
Mahira Khan plays Bilquees, also known as Billo, who comes from a wealthy family and later becomes a spiritual leader.
Wahaj Ali plays Iqbal, known as Baala, who comes from a lower-income background.
The teaser highlights the social differences between the two characters and suggests that their relationship will face serious challenges.
The trailer had previously shown Billo and Baala as young lovers before Baala was sent to prison.
After his release, Billo has taken on the role of a spiritual leader and appears to face pressure over her future.
The new teaser also hints at continued tension between the two characters. In its closing scene, Billo warns Baala that if her life is ruined, he will not be able to move forward either.
When will ‘Mitti De Baway’ air?
The drama is being produced by Green Entertainment, with Syed Wajahat Hussain directing the project.
Although the channel released the official trailer six days ago and the teaser on Sunday, the channel has not yet announced an official premiere date.
It has only said that the drama is “coming soon”.
Mitti De Baway marks Mahira Khan’s return to television and brings her together with Wahaj Ali for the first time in a drama series.
