In Pishin’s Kuch Mor area, militants ambushed a Frontier Corps (FC) party and the squad accompanying the Assistant Commissioner of Harnai, leaving eight personnel martyred and one injured so far. Eleven terrorists are also reportedly believed to have been killed in the retaliatory operation.
According to initial reports, at around 12:10 pm on September 3, a party of 134 Wing, led by Major Salahuddin, left the FC headquarters for Kuch Mor to establish a new post.
When the FC party reached Kuch Mor, around 3 to 4 kilometres beyond Ziarat Cross in Pishin, Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists allegedly set up an ambush and targeted both the FC party and the squad accompanying the Assistant Commissioner of Harnai.
Security forces launched a strong retaliatory operation immediately after the attack, with an exchange of fire continuing between the two sides.
Initial reports said three personnel were martyred and one was injured in the attack. However, 11 terrorists are also reportedly believed to have been killed during the retaliatory operation.
The exchange of fire between security forces and militants is still ongoing in the area, while a helicopter has also reached the site to provide reinforcements and support.
