Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has said that political movements are driven by struggle, sacrifice and hard work rather than donations, claiming that he has never sought financial contributions from party workers for rallies. In a statement posted on X, Marwat said he had organised around 80 rallies, processions and conventions across the country since May 9, bearing all the expenses himself.
“Imran Khan gave me a party ticket. I am Khan’s man, and I stand with Khan,” he said. Marwat said that after May 9, he had organised around 80 rallies, processions and conventions across the country. He added that he brought eight to nine of his own vehicles to each event and personally covered all related expenses.
“My house was demolished, and I suffered heavy financial losses, but no one helped me with even a single rupee,” he said. “It is unfortunate that instead of helping me, allegations were levelled against me and a campaign of defamation was launched.” He said he had done all of this not for any personal gain but for his ideology and his support for Imran Khan.
“Despite this, out of their love for Imran Khan and commitment to his ideology, workers came on their own, carrying flags, bringing their own vehicles, arranging their own food and covering all expenses from their own pockets,” he said. Marwat maintained that the movement did not need donations, saying it remained alive through the struggle, sacrifice and hard work of the people.
