Govt raises petrol, diesel dealers’ margin
The government has increased the profit margin for petrol and diesel dealers by Rs1.34 per litre.
The new margin will apply across Pakistan. Dealers will now get Rs9.98 per litre instead of Rs8.64.
Sources said the decision was taken after dealers raised concerns about higher business costs. They had been asking the government to increase their margins for some time.
The new margin will apply to petrol and diesel sold at fuel stations across the country.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s weekly inflation increased by 0.49 per cent in the week ending August 20, 2026.
According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the rise was mainly linked to higher prices of onions, petrol and chicken.
Onion prices recorded the biggest increase. They rose by 14.17 per cent from the previous week. Petrol prices increased by 3.77 per cent while chicken prices went up by 3.35 per cent.
