ATC grants bail to Falak Javed in Zaman Park police attack case

Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court has granted post-arrest bail to Falak Javed, a social media activist and supporter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in the Zaman Park attack case. Judge Malik Abid Hussain heard the case and, after hearing arguments from both sides, issued an order granting bail to Falak Javed.

During the hearing, the prosecution opposed his bail application. The prosecution argued before the court that the case registered against Falak Javed was serious in nature and that he should not be released on bail. However, after hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted him post-arrest bail.

A case has been registered against Falak Javed at Race Course Police Station under several sections, including charges related to assaulting police officers. The case pertains to an incident involving police outside Zaman Park. Falak Javed is also in jail in connection with cases related to the May 9 incidents. Legal proceedings against him are ongoing in several cases.

Although the court’s decision provides Falak Javed relief in the Zaman Park attack case, his release will depend on the status of the other cases pending against him. It should be noted that cases were registered against several PTI leaders and political activists in connection with the May 9 incidents, including allegations of attacks on police, vandalism, and other offences. Falak Javed is also facing charges related to the May 9 incidents. The Anti-Terrorism Court has now granted him bail in the case concerning the alleged attack on police outside Zaman Park.
