How can students apply for the E-Bike Scheme?

The second phase of the Chief Minister (CM) Punjab E-Bike Scheme has been announced by the provincial government.

More than 125,000 electric bikes will be provided to talented male and female students under the scheme.

According to the official website, the latest phase also includes an in-principle decision to gradually extend the scheme to government employees, government departments and public delivery riders.

How to apply for the E-Bike Scheme?

The application portal for the e-bike scheme is live now. You can now apply through the portal by logging in or creating a new account and filling in the required details. The scheme offers a monthly instalment of approximately Rs3,000.

Students will receive their bikes within six weeks of completing the required process.

To be eligible for the Punjab CM E-Bike Scheme Phase 2, applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid CNIC, be a regular student enrolled in a recognised university or degree college in Punjab, and have a valid motorcycle driving licence or learner’s permit. Applicants must also meet the required Punjab residency or domicile criteria.

Benefits of the scheme

The electric bikes will be equipped with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries. Students will also receive helmets and safety rods free of cost.

The scheme will also provide students with free two-day e-bike riding training to promote safe riding practices.
