Acid-Filled Tanker Leak Triggers Panic in Islamabad’s G-12

Web desk: Panic spread in Islamabad’s G-12 sector after a tanker carrying acid began leaking. It released a strong and unpleasant smell throughout the area.

Residents were alarmed, confused, and unsure of what had happened.

Some people stepped outside to check the situation, while others stayed indoors and shut their windows and doors.

Rescue teams reached the site soon after the leak was reported. Because acid is highly dangerous and can even ignite if it reacts with certain materials, the responders quickly worked to stop the leak and prevent any fire.

They also advised people to keep their distance for safety.

Islamabad Police said a team from Sumbal Police Station also arrived at the scene.

The police cordoned off the area, kept residents away, and started investigating the cause of the leak.

According to officials, an acid warehouse already existed in the same locality, which made the situation even more concerning for residents who were shocked that hazardous chemicals were stored near homes.

During the initial investigation, police arrested four individuals for allegedly violating safety rules related to the storage and handling of acid. Officials said the inquiry is ongoing.
