New details have emerged regarding the 9th board exams conducted by the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE).
According to the details, 81 government schools recorded a zero per cent result, meaning no student from these schools passed the board examination.
Among the government schools with zero per cent results, Rawalpindi district ranked first, followed by Attock and Chakwal.
According to the report, it has been decided to take action against the heads of government schools that recorded zero per cent results.
Meanwhile, 63 per cent of the students failed the 9th board exams. A total of 124,430 candidates submitted their admission forms, of whom 121,739 appeared in the examination.
Of the candidates who appeared, 45,724 were declared successful, resulting in an overall pass rate of 37.56 per cent, while 76,015 students failed. In addition, 2,354 candidates were absent from the examination, while 337 admission forms were cancelled for various reasons.
The All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA) has also expressed concern over the results of the 9th-grade annual examinations. The association said the results of all nine education boards in Punjab require immediate and effective measures to improve educational standards, the examination system and students’ basic academic capabilities.
