Departing flights at UK airports have been disrupted after a technical issue hit the country’s air traffic control service.
NATS, the UK’s air traffic control provider, said the technical problem was affecting departing flights, while arriving flights were not currently impacted.
The service said it was working with its local NATS team to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Passengers affected by the disruption have been advised to check with their airlines for the latest information about their flights.
NATS apologised to passengers facing disruption and said it would provide further updates as more information becomes available.

Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced that it will resume its regular flight operations to the United Kingdom (UK) after a gap of five years and three months.
The first flight is scheduled to take off from the federal capital, Islamabad, to Manchester tomorrow.
All necessary arrangements have been finalised at Islamabad International Airport, according to reports. A large portrait of Manchester’s iconic architecture has also been installed there to mark the occasion.
A formal ceremony will be held at the airport as well tomorrow. The Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, is expected to attend the event as the chief guest.
PIA’s air operations to the UK were suspended on July 1, 2020.
