Pakistani actor Bilal Abbas Khan surprised fans with his latest appearance as a groom, with many briefly believing that the popular actor had secretly tied the knot.
Bilal Abbas recently appeared as a groom in a new nikah-themed fashion photoshoot for fashion brand Republic by Omar Farooq.
The actor was dressed in an elegant white sherwani featuring silver and sequin work, while the model alongside him wore an off-white and silver bridal outfit. The shoot was staged at a mosque and included other models portraying family members, giving the photographs the look of a real wedding ceremony.
As soon as Bilal’s smiling pictures and videos surfaced on social media, they quickly went viral, leaving many fans convinced that the actor had actually gotten married.
However, fans have no reason to worry—or celebrate just yet. Bilal Abbas has not gotten married; the entire setup was part of a fashion photoshoot.
The actor, known for popular dramas including Ishq Murshid, Pyar Ke Sadqay and Kuch Ankahi, has recently maintained a relatively low profile on television, social media and at entertainment events.
Earlier, fans began speculating about the marriage of Pakistani actors Bilal Abbas Khan and Durefishan Saleem on social media platforms due to the renewed rumours.
The trend of claims started with the recent posting of Bilal Abbas Khan’s Instagram stories from Makkah.
After that, a number of entertainment pages and fans spread rumours of both actors being in Saudi Arabia at the same time, to do the Hajj.
The posts helped to perpetuate rumours that the two are already married.
The speculation had been ramping up over the weekend when a number of Instagram pages and gossip sites elaborated on the rumours without providing any evidence of the Ishq Murshid actors being married.
Some claimed that they had already performed a “nikkah” even though they didn’t provide evidence to substantiate these claims or confirm them.
Neither actor has commented on the issue nor clarified any of these rumours.
Bilal Abbas Khan and Durefishan Saleem are not the first duo to be in the middle of a relationship rumour.
The fans have been speculating about an off-screen relationship since their hit drama serial Ishq Murshid.
They were also known for their excellent chemistry in the romantic drama which attracted much attention in Pakistan and abroad and made them one of the most talked about on-screen couples on television.
The pair continues to neither confirm nor deny the continued rumours.
Their silence has in turn further fueled public interest and continues the conversation on Facebook.
Professionally, Bilal Abbas Khan still has some television projects going on; he was last seen in Meri Zindagi Hai Tu with Hania Aamir. Meanwhile, Durefishan Saleem was last seen in drama Sanwal Yaar Piya.
