Pakistan Armed Forces officers and soldiers have paid rich tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed on his 61st death anniversary to remember his remarkable valour and sacrifice in the war of 1965.
The country’s top military leadership too, in a glowing tribute, hailed the national hero for his exemplary bravery, leadership and dedication to duty.
Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s outstanding services and sacrifice for the defence of the nation were remembered by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff and General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander National Strategic Command.
During the 1965 war, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed showed outstanding gallantry in the defence of Burki Sector at Lahore. He was attacked many times by the enemy but he still stayed at his place of duty for five days and five nights; he did his duty with courage and determination.
He was a resolute leader and a brave commander, which helped to halt the enemy’s march. During the entire conflict, Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed displayed gallantry and dedication that made him one of the most revered war heroes of Pakistan.
His unmatched sacrifice and devotion to duty continue to be a guiding light for the defenders of Pakistan, the ISPR said. His bravery, hard work and love for the country’s defence is still an inspiration to future generations.
Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed served with great dedication and unwavering resolve, making his mark with his bravery and sacrifice. His name will forever be etched in the annals of Pakistan’s defence history, and he is remembered for his courage, patriotism, and dedication to duty.
The Pakistan Army reiterated its commitment to defend the country’s sovereignty and security with the same courage, determination and spirit of sacrifice that Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed showed on his martyrdom day.
His selfless devotion, unwavering courage and supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire generations and become a symbol of courage and service to the nation, the ISPR said.
