US President Donald Trump’s public approval rating for his presidency has reached 29 per cent in a new survey, while a large number of people have also expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s approach to dealing with the economy.

According to a survey by the American Research Group, only 26 per cent expressed positive views about the economy, while 72 per cent said that the US economy is getting worse.

In the survey, 68 per cent of voters expressed dissatisfaction with Trump’s performance, while 71 per cent expressed disapproval of his handling of the economy.

According to experts, rising inflation and increases in everyday prices are major reasons for the decline, while economic pessimism has increased further since the Iran war.

On the other hand, the White House defended the Trump administration’s economic policies, rejecting the negative picture presented by the survey and describing the US economy as strong.

Democrats are pleased with Trump’s declining popularity, as the president’s party could face a tough contest to maintain its position in Congress in the midterm elections.

The elections are still ahead, and the political landscape can change at any time.

Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party may try to use the economy, national security and foreign policy in their favour in the coming period.

For now, the latest survey is giving a clear message that Trump’s popularity is under pressure, and the mood of American voters ahead of the midterm elections has become an important question for the Republican Party.

It should be noted that Trump’s approval figures are not the same across recent surveys by different organisations.

For example, a Reuters/Ipsos survey released on September 21 recorded his overall approval rating at 32 per cent.
