Pakistan’s security forces have foiled an alleged infiltration attempt by Fitna al-Khawarij from the Kurram sector, reportedly carried out under the supervision of the Afghan Taliban, according to security sources.
Following the failed attempt, Afghan Taliban forces allegedly opened unprovoked fire on Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector.
Security sources said the infiltration attempt was launched from Afghan posts located in Nangarhar and Paktia provinces. Pakistani troops deployed along the border responded to the attempt and prevented the infiltrators from crossing into Pakistani territory.
The sources said Afghan Taliban forces later targeted Pakistani border posts with heavy weapons, mortars and other arms.

The sources claimed that the intense retaliatory action forced Afghan Taliban personnel to abandon several posts and retreat.
Pakistan’s security forces remain on high alert and are closely monitoring the situation along the border, the sources said, adding that they are prepared to respond to any further provocation.
