England captain Harry Brook has moved to his career-high fourth place in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after a big home series win against Sri Lanka; meanwhile, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed is the No.1 T20I bowler.
After scoring 170 runs in England’s 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka, Brook jumped five places. Played an unbeaten 114 in the 1st game in Southampton and became Player of the Series.
India’s Ishan Kishan is still in the lead in the T20I batting chart and Brook is moving towards the top three. The England skipper, who is the world’s 12th-ranked Test batsman, is also up 3 spots to 12th in the ODI batting list. He now has a chance to enter the Top 10 in all three formats.
For the first time, Abrar has claimed the No. 1 spot in the T20I bowling rankings. Leg-spinner Rashid Khan was three points behind Abrar’s 736 points, having been in the top spot for six months.
After Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi, Abrar became the fifth Pakistani to reach the top spot in the T20I bowling rankings.
Another England batsman made an auspicious improvement following 172 runs in the Sri Lanka series: Jos Buttler. He rose two spots to be one place behind Brook in the batting order.
India skipper Shreyas Iyer improved two places to 22nd and England’s Tom Banton improved 30 places to 60th. Of the bowlers, Jamie Overton had one of the greatest movements, climbing 47 places to sixth in the series and reaching his career best wicket-taking figure of five.
Liam Dawson advanced 12 positions to 11th place and India’s Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi improved 14 and 24 spots to 15th and 35th respectively. The Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan moved into 49th place in the bowling rankings, while England’s Will Jacks topped the list at 58th among bowlers and third in the all-rounders’ rankings.
After defeating Australia with 45 and an unbeaten 81 in the ODI rankings, Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza jumped five spots to 24th place. Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando moved up to 30th with three wickets, while Australia’s Nathan Ellis jumped to a career-high 17th for nine wickets, against England.
