The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore have signed an important agreement to integrate student registration and educational records.
Under the agreement, the registration system for students appearing in matriculation and intermediate examinations will be linked with NADRA’s national identity records.
As part of the initiative, a secure and integrated data-sharing system has been developed through which NADRA will provide BISE Lahore with students’ basic information, including their name, father’s name and date of birth.
The integrated system is expected to help reduce errors and discrepancies in student information during the registration process. It will also support the issuance of educational certificates based on accurate and reliable data and improve related administrative processes.
The agreement was signed by Fiza Shahid, Director General of NADRA Lahore Regional Office, and Engineer Dr Badr-ul-Islam, Chairman of BISE Lahore.
The initiative is part of NADRA’s broader plan to integrate the country’s national identity and educational records. Under the plan, NADRA is working to establish secure and digital data-sharing systems with boards of secondary and higher secondary education, universities and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) across Pakistan in phases.
