Two terrorists of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) were killed during a security operation after they allegedly set fire to an empty water bowser in the Nokcha area of Chagai District in Balochistan province and attempted to flee the scene.
According to sources, the two individuals set the empty water bowser ablaze before trying to escape. Security forces responded immediately and launched a pursuit. Both individuals were killed in an ensuing exchange of fire.
Sources said the deceased were confirmed BLA members and had allegedly been involved in arson incidents at various locations along the N-40 highway. The incident comes weeks after a major security operation on August 31, in which, according to security sources, 11 alleged BLA terrorists were killed while allegedly attempting similar acts.
Security sources said arson and other alleged subversive activities were common features of both incidents. Authorities are also investigating a possible link between the latest operation and earlier incidents along the N-40 highway.
Security has been further tightened in the Nokcha area following the incident. Operations against alleged subversive activities are continuing, while further investigations are underway into the latest incident and the alleged involvement of the deceased in previous attacks.
