The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced jobs for the post of the Assistant Director in its Governance, Risk Management and Compliance department.
As per the department’s official job advertisement, the candidates are expected to be posted in Islamabad and Quetta.
The last date to submit the applications is October 4, 2026.
The position focuses on information security, risk management and compliance, with responsibilities including security assessments, information-security audits and the development of security policies, standard operating procedures and controls.
NADRA says applicants with expertise in modern technology and cybersecurity will be preferred.
Experience with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 42001 and PKI/Web Trust is among the areas highlighted for the role.
Candidates with professional certifications including ISO 27001, CISM and CISA may also have an advantage.
The role also covers emerging security risks associated with artificial intelligence, including generative AI, large language models, prompt injection, data exposure and so-called Shadow AI.
Applications for the position must be submitted through NADRA’s official careers system. NADRA’s website confirms that its careers portal has been upgraded and uses verified PakID login for applicants.
The authority says it provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination and has encouraged qualified professionals to apply.
The job announcement comes as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) continues investigations into a separate case involving an alleged NADRA official.
According to the claims provided in the case, the FIA’s Counter Terrorism Wing arrested an Assistant Director named Aftab over allegations that he attempted to restore cancelled identity cards belonging to Afghan nationals.
The allegations include receiving Rs120 million to facilitate the restoration of identity cards for 51 Afghan citizens. Investigators also reportedly recovered Rs1.9 million in cash during a search of the accused’s residence.
The FIA has previously reported investigations involving NADRA and Immigration & Passports officials in cases concerning identity and documentation involving Afghan nationals. Its 2025 annual administration report, for example, records cases involving NADRA and IMPASS officials as well as agents.
Investigators also allege that some of the money was used to purchase property in Havelian and Islamabad’s G-15 sector, with documents relating to the properties reportedly secured.
