A local court in Rawalpindi has sent the husband of a female Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) to jail on 14-day judicial remand in a domestic violence case.
The ADC Headquarters Rawalpindi had registered a case against her husband at the Women Police Station, alleging that she had been subjected to physical and psychological abuse for several months. Police arrested the accused and presented him before the court.
According to the FIR, the woman officer, who is a mother of two, alleged that her husband assaulted her on the evening of October 2 and later locked her inside a room. She also accused him of taking away her mobile phone.
The complainant further alleged that her husband confined her against her will and prevented her from meeting her family and children. She claimed that he repeatedly intimidated and harassed her and threatened to kill her.
The woman officer told police that she feared for her safety, physical well-being and dignity, as well as the safety of her children.
In her complaint, she requested police to document the injury marks on her body and collect evidence from the alleged crime scene. She also asked authorities to prevent the accused from using their children to pressure or intimidate her.
Following the complaint, police arrested the woman’s husband and presented him before the court, which subsequently sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
