Apple offers replacement iPhones to users facing issues

Apple is offering replacement devices to some iPhone 18 Pro Max owners after confirming a cellular connectivity issue affecting a small number of users on AT&T’s network in the United States.

The issue causes affected iPhone 18 Pro Max devices to suddenly lose cellular service. Users may be unable to make or receive calls, send text messages or use mobile data.

Affected phones can also enter SOS mode, causing problems when trying to make emergency 911 calls.

Apple says the issue has only been found in a small number of iPhone 18 Pro Max devices using AT&T. Other iPhone models and mobile networks are not currently known to be affected.

Affected phones replacement

Apple has released iOS 27.0.1 along with a new AT&T carrier settings update, designed to prevent more iPhone 18 Pro Max devices from developing the same connectivity problem.

However, the updates cannot restore cellular service on phones that have already been affected. According to Apple, these devices may need to be replaced.

Affected customers are advised to contact Apple Support or AT&T for assistance. They can also visit an Apple Store or AT&T location. Eligible affected devices are to be replaced free of charge.

Apple has advised iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T to install iOS 27.0.1 as soon as possible.

The new carrier settings update will automatically reach AT&T users over a period of up to 14 days.

What is causing the issue?

Apple has not yet revealed the exact cause of the connectivity problem.

However, shortly after the iPhone 18 Pro Max launched on September 18, some users reported repeatedly losing access to AT&T’s network, leaving them unable to use calls, texts and mobile data.

The US version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X85 modem. Models sold outside the US use Apple’s C2 modem, while the smaller iPhone 18 Pro also uses Apple’s C2 modem.

AT&T is working with Apple to address the problem and has also advised customers to keep their devices updated.

Users whose phones are still working normally should install the latest iOS and carrier updates. Those who have already lost cellular service should contact Apple or AT&T, as the software update may not fix an affected device.

Apple Music officially launches in Pakistan

Moreover, Apple Music is now officially available in Pakistan. The service has arrived in the country more than 11 years after its global launch in 2015.

Apple confirmed the availability through an update to its Apple Media Services page on September 30, 2026. Pakistani users can now subscribe to Apple Music directly through their Apple accounts.

The service also offers prices in Pakistani rupees. Users no longer need a foreign Apple ID or other methods to access the platform.
