Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram has imposed Section 144 in Abbottabad, introducing a series of restrictions in view of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examinations and the President’s Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul.

According to an official notification, restrictions on gatherings, the sale of cheating materials, and the use of photocopiers and mobile phones within a 200-metre radius of examination centres will remain in force from October 7 to November 6, 2026, on examination days.

Protest demonstrations and public gatherings have been banned from October 13 to 17. The use of drones and quadcopters, as well as kite-flying, has also been prohibited during the same period. The notification further prohibits firing, mining and blasting activities from October 15 to 17. The use of loudspeakers within a five-kilometre radius of PMA Kakul will also be banned from October 13 to 17, between 7 am and noon.

Additional restrictions will apply on October 15 and 17, including measures concerning the opening of shops at specified locations, vehicle parking at petrol and CNG stations, the movement of Afghan nationals along PMA Road and pillion riding on motorcycles. The district administration has warned that legal action will be taken against those found violating the restrictions. The measures aim to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations and maintain security during the President’s Parade at PMA Kakul.
