Winter has started making its presence felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the first light snowfall of the season took place in the mountainous areas of Upper Dir, while towns and other populated areas experienced rain.

Rain also fell in urban areas of Upper Dir and Lower Dir, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Reportedly, snowfall continued in several popular mountain destinations, including Kumrat Valley, Jahaz Banda, Badgoi and Lowari Top.

The combination of rain and snowfall has made the weather colder across the region.

These areas are known for their natural beauty and attract visitors during different seasons.

The snowfall marks the beginning of colder conditions in the high-altitude areas of the district.

Residents have started preparing for winter by bringing out sweaters, jackets and other warm clothing.

Additionally, people planning to travel towards the mountains are advised to check the latest weather and road conditions before starting their journeys.

Rain and snowfall can make mountain roads slippery, particularly in areas with steep routes.

Travellers should also carry suitable warm clothing and allow extra time for their journeys.

Snowfall hits Naran, Babusar Top

Previously, the tourist destinations of Naran and Babusar Top in Mansehra also experienced snowfall.

The snowfall in Naran, Babusar Top and surrounding mountainous areas has brought colder weather not only to the upper regions but also to the plains.

According to the administration, all roads leading to the Kaghan Valley remain open to tourists despite the snowfall.

Earlier, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) directed district administrations across Punjab to remain alert in view of a forecast for rain in most districts.
