The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have prepared a summary proposing a security challenge allowance of up to 120% of basic salaries for police personnel in the province.

According to the details, the summary has been sent to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi for consideration.

The proposal recommends a security challenge allowance equal to 120% of basic salaries for police personnel in southern and merged districts, 100% for personnel in other settled districts, and 75% for those serving in the Hazara region.

The proposed allowances would result in additional monthly expenditure of more than Rs5.15 billion, according to the summary.

The summary states that the KP Police have been fighting terrorism for the past three decades. It argues that despite their sacrifices and continued efforts to maintain law and order, police personnel in the province receive lower salaries than their counterparts in other provinces.

The proposal aims to address the pay disparity and provide financial relief to police personnel serving in areas facing different levels of security challenges.

The proposed increase is subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
