The claims of cleanliness in the Suthra Punjab programme have been brought into question as garbage piles up on footpaths in the Chaklala Cantonment Board areas which has created some trouble for the residents and pedestrians.

The condition of footpaths in the area poses questions regarding the effective sanitation arrangements in the area, despite the provincial government’s focus on keeping public areas clean.

Piles of garbage have reportedly been collecting along pedestrian walkways, making it more difficult for people to use pedestrian paths designed for walking.

The situation has left residents concerned that poor sanitation is impacting the overall appearance of the area and also making it an inconvenience for those who traverse the neighbourhood.

Footpaths are supposed to be a safe and accessible route for pedestrians, but they have become dumping grounds instead.

The build-up of rubbish has also highlighted the effectiveness of the authorities responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the area.

The situation seems to be counterproductive to the goals of Suthra Punjab programme to make sanitation conditions better and provide a cleaner environment in the province.

The residents have urged the concerned authorities to pay attention to the situation and ensure that garbage is removed from the impacted footpaths.

They have also requested the Chaklala Cantonment Board to make proper arrangements for sanitation and maintain cleanliness regularly.

Citizens voiced the importance of taking measures to prevent waste from building up once more, to create a cleaner environment and to have better-maintained public spaces.

The residents’ concerns have brought the issue of cleanliness promises and the actual state to the forefront and called for a better effort on the part of the proper authorities.
