SUDHANOTI, Azad Kashmir: A passenger van travelling from Hajira to Rawalpindi plunged into the river at Azad Pattan on the Kohuta–Azad Pattan Road near Pana Bridge.
According to the Deputy Commissioner Sudhanoti, rescue teams reached the spot quickly. They managed to pull out four passengers alive. All four injured were shifted to THQ Hospital Kahuta for medical treatment.
Rescue officials said the river’s strong current and the difficult terrain are creating problems for the operation. The search for the remaining passengers is still under way.
Initial reports suggest that fourteen people went into the river with the van. Rescue 1122 teams from Kahuta, Sudhanoti and Rawalakot have moved to the site and are continuing the search operation.
