15 per cent salary raise announced for doctors
Previously, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announced a 15 per cent increase in salaries and stipends for doctors and medical trainees who continued working during a strike at government hospitals.
Under the decision, doctors who stayed away from the strike will receive a 15 per cent salary increase.
Medical trainees who continued their duties during the protest will also get a 15 per cent increase in their stipends.
The Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) has asked for lists of medical officers who performed their duties during the strike.
Medical teaching institutions have been given two days to submit the names of eligible trainees.
The lists must include the trainees’ names, departments, training levels and duty start dates.
Institutions must also provide the names of the supervisors who were responsible for these trainees during the strike.
The PGMI has directed institutions to verify the attendance and duty records of all eligible trainees.
The chairpersons of their respective departments must confirm the information before submission.
