National Games 2025: Pak Army leads with 31 Gold Medals

KARACHI: The team of the Pakistan Army was the winner of the 35th National Games this week.

On Thursday, they gained a dominant margin in terms of the number of medals. The team won 31 gold medals in a single day.

These victories were a result of such events as swimming, athletics, and team sports.

Continually, the Pakistan Army stands at the top in every aspect. They are the only ones to contain 144 gold medals. They also took 72 silver and 42 bronze medals.

In the meantime, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) was in second position. WAPDA raised its number of golds by 15 to have a total of 61 golds. The third rank belonged to the Pakistan Navy with 28 top honours.

The Army also secured the overall trophy of women’s swimming. The success of the women in swimming was led by Olympian Jehanara Nabi.

She had won five individual golds. Jehanara also won three team gold medals in the Games. The Army team won 12 gold medals in this field.

This had made them have a clear superiority over second-placed Sindh. Sindh could win only four gold medals in swimming.

Punjab is presently in the leading position among the provinces. These are 10 gold and 84 medals. Close behind them is Host Sindh with five best honors.

The Games involve 14 various teams, and these include provinces and departments. The 35th National Games will be closing soon on the 13th of December.

It will have a star-studded closing ceremony in Karachi. The last event is expected to be attended by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
