Web desk: Pakistan U19 produced a commanding performance to crush Malaysia U19 by 297 runs in their opening match of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 at The Sevens Stadium on Friday.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a massive 345 for three, led by a brilliant unbeaten 177 from Sameer Minhas.

He struck 11 fours and eight sixes in his 148-ball innings.

Ahmed Hussain also contributed a century, helping set a daunting target of 346 runs for Malaysia.

In response, Malaysia’s batting lineup struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined attack. It collapsed for just 48 runs in 19.4 overs.

Ali Raza picked up three wickets for 11 runs, while left-arm pacer Sayyam also claimed three wickets.

Daniyal took two for six, and Niqab Shafiq wrapped up the innings with one wicket.

For Malaysia, Sathnakumaran was the only bowler to take multiple wickets, claiming two.

However, he conceded 91 runs in his 10 overs. Akram took one wicket while giving away 64 runs.

When is Pak U-19 vs Ind U-19 19

Pakistan, in Group ‘A’ of the eight-team 50-over tournament, will face India in their second group match on Sunday, 14 December. And conclude the group stage against the UAE on Tuesday, 16 December.

Group ‘B’ includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on Friday, 19 December, with the final scheduled for Sunday, December 21.

All 15 matches will start at 9am local time, with The Sevens Stadium hosting seven matches and the ICC Academy Ground eight, including the final.

The 15-member Pakistan squad will be led by Farhan Yousaf.

Six players are returning from last year’s Asia Cup in the UAE, where Pakistan lost to Bangladesh in the semi-finals.
