Faiz Hameed was in contact with all key PTI figures
Commenting on whether Imran Khan’s links could be established with Faiz Hameed, Col (R) Inaam-ur-Raheem said that YouTubers and other individuals who were absconding during the May 9 incident had taken shelter at Faiz Hameed’s farmhouse.
He added that Hameed changed his SIM card daily and called a single person, such as Asad Qaiser. Each time, instructing them to inform others of his new number.
Col (R) Inaam-ur-Raheem said that Hameed did not realise that all PTI members’ numbers were under surveillance. Allowing authorities to trace his SIM within 15 minutes every time.
According to the retired colonel, Faiz Hameed was in contact with all key PTI figures involved in the May 9 events. Both before and after the incident, and records of his instructions exist.
Faiz Hameed’s links with Imran Khan
Regarding Faiz Hameed’s links with Imran Khan and former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, Col (R) Inaam-ur-Raheem said that under Section 31 of the Army Act, a civilian attempting to spread dissatisfaction or revolt within the Army can be tried if evidence is found.
He claimed that while Imran Khan was in jail, Faiz Hameed tried to gain access to him through several jail officials, and records exist of these attempts.
Col (R) Inaam-ur-Raheem described Hameed as believing that no one could challenge him. And noted that this was the first time in Pakistan that a high-ranking intelligence official was tried by the military.
He added that the decision to take action against Hameed was made by COAS and CDF Asim Munir to restore order.
The former colonel also alleged that Faiz Hameed had direct connections with former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.
After this news, Fakhar Durrani called Justice (R) Saqib Nisar to request a denial of the report, but he has not denied it to this day.
He also said that a Rangers official told him that during Faiz Hameed’s trial, when the items seized from the Top City owners were recovered, he personally collected that car from Justice (R) Saqib Nisar’s son.
