PSL 11 new format unveiled

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced new format for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.

The tournament will expand to include eight teams and introduce a two-phase structure, all packed into a short 39-day schedule.

The opening phase will feature a single-league, where each of the eight franchises plays every other team once, in balanced early competition.

Following this, the league will advance to a “Super Four” stage, dividing the teams into two groups of four. Each team will contest three additional matches here, resulting in 12 games total for this phase.

The top two teams emerging from the Super Four will advance to the playoffs, which comprise four matches culminating in the grand final to crown the PSL 2026 champion.

Even with the addition of two new teams, the format guarantees each franchise at least 10 matches preserving the player workload and excitement seen in prior seasons.

Matches will be staged across five venues: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, and in a historic first Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, bringing top-tier T20 action to the city for the debut time in PSL history.
