Thick Fog shuts down major Motorways

The Motorway Police has once again closed the major Motorways to travelers due to thick fog.

The reason to do so was to ensure the safety of people and avoid accidents.

The M-1 is currently closed at Peshawar to Burhan. M-3 in Punjab is closed at Faizpur up to Jaranwala.

At the same time, the M-4 is closed between Sher Shah and Sham Kot. Also, the M-5 is closed between Sher Shah and Rohri. Lastly, the M-11 is closed at Lahore and Sambrial.

People were advised to stay home unless they have no other choice but to travel by the police

Drivers are also expected to use fog lights in this thick fog and drive very slowly. Besides, a large distance between the car in front of you should be maintained.

It can normally become clear in the afternoon when the sun appears.

Travellers can use the helpline 130 to confirm the road situation. It is available 24 hours for the commuters.

The roads will remain closed until the weather clears.
