CDF Field Marshal Munir says killers of innocent children have no link to Islam

Army prepared to meet all challenges: CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir said that those who sheds blood of innocent children have no links to Islam.

Addressing the National Ulama and Mashaykh Conference held in Islamabad on December 10, 2025, attended by scholars from all schools of thought across Pakistan, Field Marshal Munir stated that Pakistan can confront its challenges only through national unity, state discipline, and the strength of knowledge and thought.

In his speech, the Field Marshal highlighted terrorism, national security, the regional situation, Pakistan’s emerging role in the international community, and defence preparedness. He affirmed that Pakistan, as a responsible state, desires peace but will make no compromise on its security.

Quoting verses from the Quran and poetry, he stated that Allah has bestowed upon Pakistan the honour of being a protector of the two holy mosques. He drew parallels between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Madinah, noting that both were established on the foundation of the Kalima Tayyaba during the blessed month of Ramadan, with Pakistan designated as the guardian of the Haramain.

Referring to Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos, he said Allah’s assistance was visibly felt during the operation, and success comes from the combination of discipline, faith, and right leadership.

He categorically declared that no individual or group other than the state can issue a call for jihad or issue fatwas in any Islamic state. Non-state violence contradicts Islamic teachings and harms the Ummah.

On Afghanistan, he accused the Afghan Taliban of backing terrorism that targets innocent Pakistani citizens and children, revealing that 70 percent of the Khawarij elements originating from Afghanistan are Afghan nationals.

Field Marshal Munir stated that Afghanistan must choose between the Fitna Al Khawarij and Pakistan, adding that while Pakistan seeks peace, cooperation, and mutual respect, its stance against terrorism remains unwavering.

He said that the importance of knowledge, warning that nations which abandon the intellectual and scholarly legacy of their ancestors suffer decline. He urged the ulama to play their historic role in promoting awareness, unity, and moderation in society.
