Karak: Five cops martyred as terrorist attack police van

KARAK: At least five police personnel were martyred after terrorists attacked a police van in Gurguri Police Station in Karak District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police spokesperson, the incident occurred when the terrorist opened fire at a police van in the jurisdiction of Gurguri police station.

The martyred cops identified as Shahid Iqbal, Arif, Safdar, and two others were on duty with a private company discovering oil and gas in Karak.

PM Shehbaz Sharif Condemnation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the firing incident on a police vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, which resulted in the martyrdom of five police personnel.

The prime minister expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives and offered prayers for the elevation of ranks of the martyred officers, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.

He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and assured them of the government’s full support during this difficult time.

The prime minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of the police force, stating that police personnel have always played a frontline role in the war against terrorism and have rendered unparalleled services to ensure peace and security in the country.

“Entire nation salutes the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” the prime minister said, adding that their sacrifices would never be forgotten.

Reiterating the government’s resolve, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan remains fully committed to the complete elimination of terrorism in all its forms.

Three Cops Injured as KP Police Foil Terrorist Attack in Bannu

At least three cops sustained injuries as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police foiled a terrorist attack on Ahmed Wazir police station, Bannu.

As per details, a group of terrorists attacked the Ahmedzai Wazir Police Station in Bannu, surrounding it from all sides, engaging policemen in an exchange of fire that lasted nearly two hours.

DIG Sajjad Khan stated that three police personnel were injured during the attack, however, in retaliation police inflicted significant losses on the attackers.

The DIG stated that upon the arrival of additional police reinforcements, the terrorists fled the area.

The injured police officials were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Security Forces Kill 22 Indian-Backed Fitna Al Khwarij in Bannu IBO

Earlier, security forces gunned down 22 Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to ISPR, an intelligence based operation was conducted in Bannu District, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.

During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, twenty two khwarij were sent to hell.

Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country
