LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has strongly reacted to the suspension of the Punjab Property Ownership Ordinance by the Lahore High Court.
According to her, the suspension of the law will benefit the encroachment mafia. And the public will consider it as support of the encroachment mafia.
CM Punjab said in her statement that the Government has set a time lapse of 90 days for settling the land and property cases.
These cases have been going on for years and generations.
She added that this law was made to ensure that the people could be saved from the control of the powerful land mafia.
This law provided the people with digital and legal proof of their ownership.
Maryam Nawaz further said in her statement that the Lahore High Court’s decision is not in accordance with the principles set by the Supreme Court.
The suspension of this law will benefit the land-grabbing mafia; the people will consider it as support of the land-grabbing mafia.
She said that stay orders have been in place in land cases for decades.
She said, “The lack of justice will break the hope of the poor and the oppressed.”
This law was neither for the benefit of Maryam Nawaz, nor has its suspension caused any harm to us.
But it has greatly affected the lives of various people, waiting for the orders regarding their lands.
Legislation is the constitutional right of the provincial assembly, which cannot be stopped.
